Installation
Install the Paplix KiCad Plugin to enable version control directly in KiCad.

Download KiCad PluginRequirements
- KiCad 7.0 or later - The plugin requires KiCad 7.0+
- Operating System - Windows 10+, macOS 11+, or Linux (Ubuntu 20.04+)
Installation Steps
Step 1: Download the Plugin
Click the download button above to get the latest version of the plugin. Save the ZIP file to your computer - you don't need to extract it.
Step 2: Open Plugin and Content Manager
- Open KiCad
- Go to Plugin and Content Manager (from the main KiCad window)
Step 3: Install from File
- Click Install from File... at the bottom of the window
- Navigate to and select the downloaded
kicad-plugin.zipfile - Click Open
Step 4: Verify Installation
- The plugin will be installed automatically
- Look for the Paplix entry in your plugins list
- You may need to restart KiCad for the plugin to appear in the toolbar
Troubleshooting
Plugin Not Appearing
- Restart KiCad after installation
- Check that the plugin is enabled in Plugin and Content Manager
- Verify you're using KiCad 7.0 or later
Installation Fails
- Ensure the ZIP file downloaded completely
- Try downloading the file again
- Check that you have write permissions in KiCad's plugin directory
Permission Errors
- On macOS, you may need to allow the plugin in Security & Privacy settings
- On Linux, ensure proper permissions for KiCad's configuration directory
