Keep your Paplix KiCad Plugin up to date for the latest features and bug fixes.

Check Current Version

  1. Open KiCad
  2. Click on Paplix in the toolbar
  3. Select About or Settings
  4. Your current version will be displayed

Update Steps

Step 1: Close KiCad

Before updating, close KiCad completely to avoid conflicts.

Step 2: Remove Old Version

  1. Open KiCad's plugin directory:
    • Windows: %APPDATA%\kicad\7.0\scripting\plugins\
    • macOS: ~/Library/Preferences/kicad/7.0/scripting/plugins/
    • Linux: ~/.config/kicad/7.0/scripting/plugins/
  2. Delete the existing Paplix plugin folder

Step 3: Install New Version

  1. Extract the downloaded ZIP file
  2. Copy the plugin folder to KiCad's plugin directory
  3. Start KiCad

Step 4: Verify Update

  1. Open KiCad
  2. Click Paplix → About
  3. Confirm the new version number

Troubleshooting

Settings Lost After Update

Your login credentials and settings are stored separately and should persist across updates. If you need to log in again, see the Login Guide.

Plugin Not Loading After Update

  • Clear KiCad's plugin cache
  • Ensure you have the correct version for your operating system
  • Check the KiCad console for error messages
